... It's likely Norma was killed by a shot gun. From what we could tell. The wound didn't quite match, like it had been messed with or something had been dug out. [ ... ] And Chiemi had two used bullets on her person. We couldn't match the handwriting on the bento note to anyone alive, and it didn't match Norma's handwriting so it was probably Chiemi's.
I just don't know why she'd kill her. Or why Norma would let her use that bravery medal, as I'm assuming that's what happened. If you assume that Chiemi used it, then it feels like she didn't want to kill her. More like she had to.

I do think you're onto something. The question of "had to" can be divvied even in and of itself. Had to as in someone possessed her to, whether literally or metaphorically? Had to, as in her world was at stake, and she felt there was no other choice? Or even simply that she had to, because it was just the two of them who were awake, until Argalia's unfortunate arrival?
Ultimately, we'll never know. The only person who could tell us what happened is dead.
But I believe you're right: the note in the box is quite important.
I don't care about Argalia. But I don't necessarily want to see him die. Even back home, we wouldn't find someone's guilt in nine hours and sentence them to death as a default. There's something wrong with this place.

I wonder about the tea as well. Three cups. I don't for a moment think Argalia sat down to tea with them and agreed to hunt the last person standing, but weren't there tea cups involved last week as well?
If that was meant to be a hint to us, then it doesn't suggest to me she was doing it to save her world and get away with it. It sounds like a purposeful hint.
[ thinks about his own canon... laughs.... sometimes you're medieval. he has plenty of experience with something very similar. alephan's wisdom does help, sometimes - it certainly kept osvald from a far worse fate, but to play judge, jury and executioner... well. an inquisitor's duties are sometimes unpleasant, in moments of great necessity. it's hard to feel like argalia deserved anything than what he'll be receiving.

It's like people sat down to talk about something before the murder happened. The fact there's three cups suggests it was three people. But as far as we know, only Chiemi and Norma fought each other than night.

And we didn't cotton on to any particularly suspicious injuries on anyone still living that participated in the injury check. Even if there had been an accomplice, there wouldn't have been much we could have done about it - I suppose we could have voted for them, but who knows what that would mean, by our end results?

But we do have healing items now. I know they can't do wonders, but they could do enough to hide an obvious injury and make it look older or less obvious.

Were I in Chiemi's shoes - I imagine I'd be exhausted. If she could talk Argalia into a chat, then that might have given her time to recover her strength, even a little. Indulging his idiosyncrasies might have bought her a little time.
