[ Axel does not linger on the potential alternative to him not remembering. He might have been slower to react in general, but what matters is that apparently his friend's gamble had paid off. ]
Well, for starters, when my former leader tried to kill Xion, that's when a friend of mine jumped in to save the day. You didn't see him, but his name's Roxas. He's also got a Keyblade like mine. Actually...two.
Since he was able to pop in in time that saved both me and Xion.
[ He starts there because he thinks he can sense that worry, which does warm his heart but he would like to assure Temenos even moreso. Especially so he can enjoy his treat. ]
[ ...okay, yes. busted, he was a little worried, and there's a marked relief in his expression. ]
Sounds like a very reliable friend to have.
[ good. he will now go actually open his sea salt ice cream now that he's 50% sure axel's not also fcking dead, which is an improvement over so many conversations he's had this week, fussing at the wrapper and leaning against the counter in the kitchen to eat. ]
he smiles a bit further, and then reaches to lightly link his fingers around axel's wrist to pull him along to find somewhere to sit, ice cream in his other hand. come on. ]
... That's right. Your group - an organization, right? You've not told me much about it.
[ Congratulations, Temenos. You're the first person here to hear the entirety of the actual group name. He's allowing the other to pull him along easily, especially with their fingers linked. ]
It's leader, Xemnas, found us all and had us join after each member kinda suffered a disastrous event.
He gave us new names, because we lost our humanity in becoming creatures that existed in neither the light or the dark. Shells, he told us. Beings that had no emotions, no true relation to our past lives. So "Lea" became "Axel", member number VIII of the Organization. Anyway, everyone believed him for awhile, you know. That we were nothing, had no emotions, nothing.
[ Axel is squeezing Temenos' hand a bit as he's talking. ]
well. he pulls him along easily, though he glances backwards over his shoulder when axel starts briefly enough to try and get a read on his expression, but otherwise turns away, letting the information wash over him. organization thirteen, a group of people, and the attempt to break away...
temenos presses his lips together briefly. that's... ]
... Hard to imagine. [ murmured. it's very, very hard to imagine someone like axel having no emotions at all. ] That was the one who was in your memory? Xemnas.
[ Axel's voice doesn't waver, really. It's just like he's mulling over something and having feelings on it because has he ever really had time to unpack that? No. Has he ever wanted to? Not really.
Then he shakes his head, smiling a little, though it goes away soon enough, expression appearing to be somewhere between thoughtful, but not excited. That said, at least if he's talking about it, it's with Temenos. ]
Yeah, that's the guy. While we were a part of the Organization we had to follow orders, and we'd be turned into a Dusk by him. Which is like some kinda mindless creature. Heh, I remember when he threatened to do that to me because I didn't wanna wipe out Roxas.
Of course, as the leader, he gave himself a title - the "Superior". We all got titles, too, but he sure made it clear who was in charge.
[ temenos says, and he sounds utterly derisive, darkly joking - a snort, included. if anyone can understand that feeling, it's temenos number 1 sacred guard hater mistral, who thinks all organizations are generally trash.
he pulls axel to come sit on the floor couch, dropping down next to him. ]
So, in short, he wanted you all to be his soldiers. To what ends...? More than ego, I imagine.
[ Axel likes hearing the other man use such a tone when referring to the organization because truly, it is well-deserved.
He will easily follow the pull regardless, seated beside Temenos; it's a better place for his story telling as he relaxes a touch more, even if what he is saying isn't like the brightest topic. ]
...Unfortunately, yeah. If it were just his ego, that might've made it slightly better, by which I mean by not much. He was hoping we'd be there as 'vessels' for somebody else to kind of control in some minor way, and help facilitate some kinda conflict to bring out some ultimate weapon. With the Organization XIII, there'd be the thirteen darknesses against the seven lights.
Always. People like that who think they're in control, doing what they can to succeed in whatever they're trying to aim for, at everybody else's expense.
[ And Axel can't stand being underneath people's thumbs. Not in the slightest. Those like Xemnas rule with a heart of stone, with a manipulative edge he could not never abide. All the same, that bit of hesitation is equally noticeable, but even moreso is the feeling of the hand lain to rest against his arm, expression softening, evening out a bit as well. ]
...I did. Took me about five or so years, but I can say for sure that I'm no longer a part of them. That's something to be proud of...yeah?

You can bet that you're right about that.
[ How many times has somebody told Tem that they are dead...one can only wonder. But, at least he won't be one of those people.
....Not going to try to end that sentence ominously here. ]
It made things a little easier in escaping the group we were a part of. So this isn't exactly the only time he helped me out.

That clash would reveal this weapon.

he listens - expression mostly unimpressed, brow furrowing. man, this guy sucks. ]
It's always those types, isn't it? [ ugh.
there's a beat - just a flutter of hesitation, before he gently reaches out to lay his hand on axel's arm. ] ...But, you left.
