[she slowly nods, taking a step back and clasping her hands behind her back.]
She was really happy to win the race. And she didn't look scared at all when she died. You did a good job. [being congratulated on a job well done might not be appropriate for this context, but.] ... I'm glad Mika didn't have to listen to what the audience was saying, anyway.
[ the first part just gets a little nod - he gets it.
the second, however, is very interesting. it catches his attention, and he makes a little noise, eyebrow raising. ] I noticed - there were quite a few citizens, weren't there? What were they saying?
... They kept calling her the worst of the worst. And they said all kinds of bad things about her, that she had to have earned this or else she wouldn't have gotten that sentence.
But they didn't even know why she was sentenced to death. They didn't even question it.
[ that doesn't sit well with temenos either. his frown deepens, and he puts his hand to his chin. ]
...no. I've the feeling the citizens here aren't used to questioning much at all. [ which is unfortunately not all that familiar. temenos doubt is what i do mistral is not a fan. ] It does feel as though we're being cast as parts in a play, doesn't it? Today, when I woke up and found myself there, I had no way to stop myself - my body quite literally walked me there without my permission.
[she looks surprised, even though she probably shouldn't be since the same time happened when it was time to haul their butts to trial. and then her eyebrows furrow together in concern. bad? bad.]
... Whoever set things up so Mika and Rocket would die probably has the ability to control other people. Like yesterday at trial. And when everyone fell asleep at the same time.
he nods when she's finished, frowning thoughtfully. ] I think that's a valuable observation, Saya. [ a lil praise first! ] It ties well to our sudden arrival here, too. If we can be pulled across the very fabric of the universe, then why not be put to sleep, or forced to walk places without our real knowing?
[ or its mg mechanics but you know, ]
And interestingly, it seems as if there's been no mention of the antics of our cadre in the jail in any news, either. You would think that sort of thing would be a headline. It's all very concerning.
They broke the news about Rocket's death really fast. But not... any of the other stuff. I wonder if there's anything we could do to test what makes it on the news, and what doesn't.
[this is a terrible idea, maybe. it's fine.]
I think I overheard one of the citizens say something weird about the moon. It fell... or something? But there's nothing about it on the news, either.
