...I believe that much of the function of this city seems to be in black and white, and beyond that, they function and make decisions out of fear. [ it's a terrible combination. a hero is someone who helps people. a villain is someone who kills people. simplistic. one or the other. yes or no. no room for shades of gray, like the accidental killing of rocket, or mika bursting into tears in the courtroom as she faced judgement. ]
And with the threat of our worlds hanging over our heads, fear is being used to keep us in line as well. [ well. kind of. looks at the location updates from yesterday. ] It is a frustrating and vicious cycle.
So they aren't very smart. [she rests her chin on her knees, closing her eyes for a moment.] It feels like someone plotted all of it out, and all we've done is do exactly what they wanted. It's not normal for everyone to fall asleep at the same time.

I agree. There's something much larger brewing around us, I fear - I have a feeling, somehow, that this will not be the last of this justice system that we see.
