It's alright. It was the same for me - though, I had warned Kogitsunemaru in advance that if the other killer was not catchable, I would not hesitate in ensuring he was caught.
We started to discuss it last week, and would have acted then, had Kogitsunemaru not disappeared on his adventure. [ me, unable to think about running a murder and cyoa at the same time. simply perishing. ] The victim and the plan were up in the air.
[ there's a brief wrinkle of his nose. ] ...Not that Kogitsunemaru did anything according to it. I wanted to apologize, for what happened to Lilium: I did not know the extent of what he would do.
[ there's no smile, just thoughtfulness as he tilts his head and reads over temenos's face. ]
I think that might be where we differ. I probably would've done whatever it took to make sure Lillium didn't get caught. He'd probably be mad about that, too.
Those adventures really do mess up plans though. We only really started talking about it last Sunday, and then there was a plan set into motion. I didn't know all of the details before he put it into place, but enough. [ ... ] For instance, I knew the gloves weren't actually Kogitsunemaru's.
[ but he went with it anyway. ] So...what did actually happen? Kogitsunemaru wasn't entirely clear, and I'm sure you know the full extent.
[ because it turned out instead of having to compete over not getting caught, they got to work together on sending kogi off the executionland. ]
And... I thought you might have. [ about the gloves. ] But I thought they might serve your purpose well enough, towards the end. Once I deduced Lilium had likely killed, it became paramount to ensure Kogitsunemaru was caught. We had agreed on the consequences long before.
...As for what happened. There are parts that were vague even to me, but I will do the best that I can. Most of the evidence in the museum was designed as a diversion - it was sheer coincidence that it happened to overlap with Lilium's case. As I know it, they fought in the cafe first, followed by the enclosure, where Kogitsunemaru followed him over the edge into the tiger's pen and they finished their duel. I believe the drums may have been utilized for that reason - to change the arena of the fight itself.
I asked about ... [ a pause. a thoughtbubble over his head makes a staticy symbol, giving off the general vibe of annoyed. ] ... As for the leg, and the bite. I believe both were done post-mortem, and when I asked why, he had no real answer for me. I'm of the believe it was this odd sensation of impulse that has afflicted us all week long - a decision made on impulse.
But you're right that it served my purpose enough, and it's why I didn't hesitate. I'd suspected Kogitsunemaru from the time I was examining Lillium's body, so it was a long waiting game for the rest of the afternoon. It was all I needed to then solidify the case and get everyone else to question him harder.
[ but he listens to all of that, frowning the longer temenos explains. ]
...so the drum was used to make him walk into the pen. [ he! hates! that! ] Kogitsunemaru chose to do that to him even after they fought in the cafe? Why not just finish where it started? And why the diversion--actually, why the leg. Does he have any idea how important those are? [ seethes... ] Everything was overkill. That doesn't sound like the honorable duel Kogitsunemaru made it out to be.
honestly, it'd be nice if they could've just. not had to do this quota thing but also, such was the way the cookie crumbled. the first bit just gets a nod. yeah! he thought so.
after that temenos just. closes his eyes. a thought bubble pops up that says Kogitsunemaru.... that is clearly exasperated. ]
The diversion was my idea - meant for trial, to throw off the trail. I knew I'd be able to provide an answer when the time came, if it were necessary, so I suggested the idea of obfuscating his path with falsified evidence. I do know that Lilium had a gun, and Kogitsunemaru was fighting him with a blade, so I suppose that could explain the reasoning behind their movement from place to place. They are both quite skilled as combatants.
As for the leg - no, I don't think he did. And even if he didn't, I haven't a clue what consumed him to think that was a good idea. To be honest, I would not ascribe him thinking to it at all.
[ he can't really say much to the idea that temenos suggested creating a diversion out of the scene. he would have suggested the same if he thought lillium would have listened to his plans, and he doesn't go into the stuff they did talk about when it came to planning albedo's death. that's neither here nor there. as far as he's concerned, they did what was necessary and still respectfully buried him.
this is just a mess, and he's frowning deeply as he considers this. ]
Lillium's a strong fighter. Both with a gun and with a sword. I think it's pretty cheap to have used the drum to get the upper hand when it was meant to be a fight. If you're as skilled as you claim, why not use that skill to push the fight back? Or, as I said, he could have died for his efforts instead if he couldn't manage that much.
[ really he's just mad he was mindcontrolled is what it is. ]
I do suppose we have the lack of impulse control to blame, but...it's still not a great look.

[ a great look! it's fine. kogi was very stressful but kogi is also voted for and dead. so there is that. ]
And I certainly don't condone it, either, but, such is the story. I'd not sugarcoat it any.

Well I appreciate the clarification then. Thank you. [ he does not seem very happy about it, but at least...he has an idea of some things. ]
