I don't know if I would call it black and white. That would mean that it's unfeeling entirely. [ ... ] I don't necessarily agree with an execution. But I don't think this idea of justice suits what we're supposed to accomplish here.

Or, perhaps the complete opposite: that it's more feeling than not.

You put it well. An eye for an eye does tend to make the world blind, and all: even still, there are many situations in which an eye for an eye is the only catharsis for a still bleeding wound.
Justice is subjective, after all. [ what was just to nimona? just to the city? just to rocket and groot? ] And questioning this system and city we've been asked to participate in is the way forward.
Seems to be the case for the people here. And some of our own, too. This is a city that seems to be striving to achieve balance without having an idea of how to get there. The leaders lost four of their own, and now thirty-five of us were pulled in to train and help them. A hero in training was killed, and so it's been designated we solve our own problems.

And more likely, a hero in training killed a hero in training, and we'll have to serve her sentence ourselves as well. Death's judgment is swift, and it's cruel, but it's always about balancing it out.
A balance for which weight is constantly dropping on one side, or the other. An endless cycle.

The ways in which the fear of the unknown can flourish the worst of people is a given, but it often surprises me, the depths of which things will turn. This is a dark path we find ourselves turned towards, and one we've rather been shoved onto.
I was going to say that I really don't think it's about us turning toward a path. I think the other paths have been blocked for us, and this is the only way we're going to find our way out. [ so same idea, yeah. ]
We still don't even have an answer for why Rocket and Mika were even awake. It's not like either of them had intentions to hurt each other in the first place. So the new question is who was responsible for that, and how do we find them?
