As far as I can ascertain, we are not unlike the dolls in a paper play, at the moment. Though our will is free, in some manners, we are being held to a specific narrative, and all factors around us are designed to play into it. Even when we push back against the story, there's no hide, hair, or mention of it, and no one native to this place seems to listen.
Have you spoken much to the leaders at all about our situation? Or, perhaps, what happened before we arrived?
And even then, I'm not sure. It's funny, because they've ascertained that the moon crash thing was real... but then I went online the other day and there are definitely some people who think it's a total hoax. I know you can't always believe shit you see on the 'net or whatever, but...
It's worth having all of the perspectives. In every bit of information, there's some iota of truth.
So I really think maybe it's got something to do with this "paper doll" aspect that you mentioned. I would put money on the fact that something about Thursday night specifically makes us... susceptible to something.
